TherGlass Concrete ADMIX HD-100
Crystalline Waterproofing Additive for conventional concrete in works where large concrete thicknesses and cement contents of no less than 300 kg/m3 are expected.
Therglass ® ADMIX HD-100 is a development based on Therglass ® Admix HD, with identical properties and final characteristics, but with a higher concentration of active geo-polymers, to facilitate its implementation, since Therglass ® ADMIX HD-100 is indicated for use in special concretes with large quantities of cement or fly ash, as well as where large quantities of concrete are expected.
Therglass ® ADMIX HD-100 is added directly to the concrete mix, at a dosage of 1 kg per cubic meter of concrete.
Specifications and Application Form
Concrete is a porous material by nature, most often with micro-cracks, voids, pores and capillaries that mainly form in the early stages of curing.
The better connected these gaps are, the more permeable the concrete is and the more prone it is to damage caused by the ingress of water, liquids, and corrosive agents.
However, TherGlass Concrete ® ADMIX HD-100 technology virtually eliminates concrete porosity and many of its inherent weaknesses, thereby increasing its durability.
TherGlass Concrete ® ADMIX HD-100 is added directly to the concrete mix during its manufacturing phase.
The dosage of TherGlass ® Concrete The dosage is 1 kg of TherGlass Concrete ® ADMIX HD-100, for each cubic meter of concrete and the water cement ratio (w/c) must be equal to or less than 0.5.
The addition of TherGlass Concrete ® ADMIX HD-100 may slightly modify the plastic properties of the concrete, which is why we recommend carrying out prior mixing tests to adjust the consistency of the concrete by incorporating fluidifying additives and never adding more water to the mix than designed.
TherGlass Concrete® ADMIX HD-100 is compatible with most standard naphthalene sulfonate-based fluidizers. If using lignosulfonate-based, melamine-formaldehyde-based, or polycarboxylate-based fluidizers or superfluidizers, we recommend performing prior testing.
Mixing Process
Concrete Plant – Dry Mix
- Add TherGlass Concrete ® ADMIX HD-100, powder, to the truck's mixing tank.
- Once the tank has been started, the remaining aggregates can be added following normal mixing practices.
- The materials must be mixed dry for at least 5 minutes, to ensure that the ADMIX HD-100 additive has been evenly distributed throughout the concrete mass.
CONCRETE CENTRAL – GROUT MIX
- Mix ADMIX HD-100 with water to form a very fluid, fine-textured slurry.
- Subsequently, pour all the concrete components (aggregates, cement and water) into the truck's mixing tank following the usual mixing process.
- Take into consideration the amount of water already used to make the grout.
- Pour the ADMIX HD-100 slurry into the truck and mix for at least 5 minutes to ensure uniform distribution throughout the concrete mass.
PRECAST PLANT
- Add ADMIX HD-100, along with the aggregates and sand, mix well for 5 minutes.
- Add the cement and water and mix again following the usual mixing process.
Important:
- It is important to obtain a homogeneous mixture of ADMIX HD-100 with the concrete. Therefore, powdered ADMIX HD-100 should not be added directly to wet concrete to prevent the formation of lumps that would prevent the mixture from being evenly distributed.
- The mixing of TherGlass ® Concrete ADMIX HD-100 with the rest of the concrete components will always be done with prior agitation at medium to high speed and never for less than 10 minutes before pouring.
- Even if the concrete contains the ADMIX HD-100 additive , the need to make the corresponding designs for crack control, detailing of construction or expansion joints, as well as taking measures to repair defects in the concrete (e.g., holes, cracks exceeding permissible limits, etc.) is not excluded.

Joint treatment
Joints between the various concrete elements that make up the structure: slab-to-slab, wall-to-wall, slab-to-wall, pipe passages, through holes (splits), etc., should be treated according to our recommendations in our Technical Bulletin Application (TJS) 1.027 . TherGlass® Joint System.
Cleaning
Fresh tools and implements can be cleaned with water. If the material has hardened, it can only be cleaned mechanically.
Dosages and Consumption
The dosage of ADMIX HD-100 is 1 kg per m³ of concrete.
