Therglass Concrete Top Coat con Self-Cleaning TX Active
It is a highly technological product that combines two fundamental principles for the durability of concrete: complete watertightness and self-cleaning properties.
Therglass® Concrete Top Coat with Self-Cleaning TX Active® is presented in the form of a dry mortar, based on Portland cement modified with a powerful catalyst based on photocatalytic titanium dioxide, silica sands of selected granulometries and active waterproofing chemical additives, Therglass® Crystalline Waterproofing.
Specifications and Application Form
Therglass® Concrete Top Coat is one of the products that make up the repair system for existing concrete structures that present water leaks, so it is applied as a second reinforcement layer, over the base already prepared with TherGlass® Concrete BASE COAT.
In case of direct application to the support and as a single layer, the following instructions must be followed:
-
– The concrete to be treated must be clean and open-pored.
-
– Remove surface grout, loose or disintegrated parts, dust, dirt, grease, release agents, paint, etc.
-
– Cleaning with sandblasting, pressurized water, a steel bristle brush, mechanical brushing with a needle gun, etc. is recommended.
-
– It's advisable to start the mixture with a portion of the planned water and blend the product at low speed for a few minutes. Always follow the powder-in-water method, never water-in-powder.
-
– Then, the rest of the water will be added until the required fluidity is obtained, mixing for a few minutes.
-
– Mix with a slow electric mixer or blender for a few minutes, and in any case, until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous paste, without lumps and with the consistency required for each case.
-
– The mixing ratio is 5 parts Therglass® Concrete Top Coat to 2 parts water, always by volume.
-
– You should only prepare the amount that you can use within 20 minutes of mixing.
-
– The substrate must be moistened to saturation, without flooding, before applying Therglass® Concrete Top Coat with Self-Cleaning TX Active®.
-
– Once mixed, it can be applied with a brush, long-pile roller, or spray gun. In any case, spread until the entire surface is evenly covered. It allows for troweled or smooth finishes.
