It is a specially designed compound, based on high-strength hydraulic cements and hydro-reactive chemicals, which provide immediate setting without shrinkage or cracking to plug leaks and repair concrete.

Therglass ®  Concrete  Repair Plug , cuts water leaks or leaks even under pressure, in drinking water tanks, dikes, underground structures, basements, elevator pits, etc.

The essential characteristics of this mortar are enhanced by the hydrophilic crystalline technology of  Therglass ®  Concrete .

Specifications and application form

Instructions for Plugging Waterways

Instructions for Plugging Waterways

Preparation:

– Open the crack or gap manually or mechanically to a minimum depth of 30 mm and a width of 25 mm, ensuring that it is trapezoidal in shape.

– Make a dovetail hole.

– In coqueras, remove the loose or disaggregated material until reaching strong and consistent concrete.

– Remove surface grout, loose or disintegrated parts, dust, dirt, grease, release agents, paint, etc.

– Cleaning with sandblasting, pressurized water, a steel bristle brush, mechanical brushing with a needle gun, etc. is recommended.

– Before applying TherGlass ®  Concrete   REPAIR PLUG,   the substrate must be moistened to saturation, without flooding.

Mix:

– Mix 4 parts of TherGlass ®  Concrete  REPAIR PLUG   with 1 part of water until you get a putty consistency.

– Do not mix more than can be used in 2 minutes.

– To achieve the best results, the water temperature should be between 15ºC and 20ºC

Application:

– Apply the material into the prepared cavity and press firmly until the mixture is hard.

– When sealing cracks, start at the top and work your way down.

– When using a pressurized water outlet, shape the putty using rubber gloves and wait until it is almost hard before placing it over the water outlet. Then, press firmly on the putty until it has completely hardened (approximately 4 to 9 minutes).

High flow water sealing.

When there is a high water flow due to hydrostatic pressure, proceed as follows:

– Open a cavity in the affected area to channel the water.

– Insert a piece of pipe into the hole and seal it around the hole with TherGlass ®  Concrete   REPAIR PLUG,   forcing water to flow through the pipe. This will relieve pressure in the surrounding area, allowing the concrete to be patched.

– Repair the affected area from the ends towards the drainage pipe.

– Wait 24 hours for it to harden.

– Remove the drain pipe and plug the hole.

– If necessary, reduce the water flow by inserting steel wool or a wooden plug before proceeding with the final sealing with TherGlass ®  Concrete   REPAIR PLUG.

Important:

The temperature of the water for the mix can be modified to either increase or decrease the setting time.

When working in hot environments with temperatures above 25°C, the mixing water should not exceed 30°C and the TherGlass ®  Concrete   REPAIR PLUG material  should not exceed 20°C.

When working in cold environments with temperatures below 8°C, it is recommended to use hot water (up to 20°C) to accelerate the development of resistance.

Below normal ambient temperatures will cause a delay in the setting time of TherGlass ®  Concrete   REPAIR PLUG .

Dosages and Consumption

  • 1 kg of TherGlass ®  Concrete   REPAIR PLUG,   fill approximately half a litre.
  • Consumption is theoretical and depends on the roughness of the substrate and other specific conditions of each project.
  • To determine exact consumption, prior tests must be carried out on site.

Storage

Protect from sunlight and extreme temperatures. In tropical climates, the product should be stored in a cool, dry place. In cold climates, the product should be stored at a temperature ≥ 5°C.

TherGlass ®  Concrete   REPAIR PLUG   has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture, if stored correctly and in its original packaging.
