TherGlass Concrete REPAIR BASE P-NC
This is a mortar for resilient base plasters. It is supplied pre-packaged and pre-dosed from the factory, so you only need to add water on site.
It is a mortar for resistant plasters, manufactured from cements with a high clinker content and high resistance to sulfates, high-purity silica sands with selected granulometries, acrylic fibers, and rheological additives.
Specifications and application form
-
Support Preparation
– The substrate must be strong and stable, free of dust, paint, oil, grease, etc. To do this, it must be cleaned, removing all traces of dust, liquids, flaking paint, efflorescence residue, and any other substance that could impair proper adhesion to the substrate.
– Damaged concrete areas must be removed to a strong, healthy surface. The edges of the repair must be mechanically cut to a depth of at least 4 mm.
– If there are reinforcements affected by corrosion, they will be uncovered until the exposed reinforcement is no longer affected.
- Remove rust from the reinforcements and clean mechanically to a minimum level of Sa2.
– Cleaning with sandblasting, a steel bristle brush, mechanical brushing with a needle gun, etc. is recommended.
– The substrate must be moistened to saturation, without flooding, before applying the mortar.
– To improve adhesion, the Ibercal ® Pregunite Pro bonding bridge can be used (in this case, do not wet the substrate).
-
Mix:
– Mix the powdered product with the indicated amount of water
– Mix with a low-speed mechanical mixer or agitator until completely homogenized (approx. 2-3 minutes),
– The resulting mass must have a thixotropic consistency.
-
Application:
– Apply a first thin layer to the substrate using strong pressure to ensure adhesion.
– Apply the remainder until the desired thickness is obtained.
– Once hardening has begun, it can be smoothed, troweled, etc.
– Smooth and/or trowel.
Important:
– In very humid environments the setting process may increase.
– Do not apply at temperatures below 5ºC or above 35ºC
– Do not apply in conditions of strong winds, rain and/or frost
– Do not add sand, cement or any other product that modifies the original formulation.
– If the product hardens, do not try to apply it again by adding water.
– Avoid breathing dust and contact with skin and eyes.
– Keep the container closed and protected from moisture.
Precautions
To ensure that the product achieves the expected properties, it is absolutely necessary to cure the mortar for at least 24 hours after application. To do this, moisten the mortar with sprayed water for 24 hours after application, keeping the plastered surface moist for proper curing.
Cleaning
Fresh tools and implements can be cleaned with water. If the material has hardened, it can only be cleaned mechanically.
Dosages and Consumption
The approximate yield is 1.60 to 1.70 kg/m2 and mm of thickness, depending on the mixing water. The indicated consumption is a guideline; however, exact consumption should be determined by taking samples on-site.
Storage
Protect from sunlight and extreme temperatures. In tropical climates, the product should be stored in a cool place. In cold climates, the product should be stored at a temperature ≥ 5°C.
TherGlass ® Concrete REPAIR BASE P-NC, has a shelf life of 12 months from its date of manufacture, if stored correctly and in its original packaging.
